It's almost time to cut down the cover crop and green manure and turn it back into the soil in our planting beds. It's hard to wait. Just a few more weeks. It's cold out there but the sun is shining bright. The Holly seems to be happy in the morning light! There should be plentiful sunshine today. Light winds from the NW at 10 to 15 MPH. Planted some winter rye as ground cover and green manure last fall. Looks pretty good still. Here in the Carondelet neighborhood we will have some cloudy skies today. Falling temperatures all day. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY - Possible freezing rain. Well, it's cold again so the garden sits quietly still collecting it's thoughts before reawakening in spring but the Amaryllis is beautiful. We've been using Holland Bulb Farms for our bulbs the last few years and have been so impressed! This one is a beauty. Stay safe. We'll have clouds with some occasional showers this afternoon. Well, technically it is the biggest snow of the year, but then again it is only January 6th and it wasn't much snow. But it is bitterly cold! Cloudy skies early with some clearing this afternoon.
